QUESTIONS TO ASK IF YOU'RE SEEKING HELP FOR OCD OR RELATED PROBLEMS, AND THE ANSWERS YOU SHOULD AT LEAST EXPECT TO HEAR...
Q: "I'm looking for help with OCD (or other problem).  Do you specialize in treating it?"
A: "Yes." or "It's one of my specialties."
Q: "May I ask what your credentials are?"
A: The most common answers will be:
      "I'm a psychiatrist" or "I'm an MD."
      "I'm a psychologist" or "I'm a PhD" or "I'm a Doctor of Psychology."
      "I'm a clinical social worker" or "I'm an MSW."
Q: "Are you licensed in Michigan?"
A: "Yes."
Q: "How long have you been in practice?
A: (Two years or more is a good answer.)
Q: "What kind of therapy do you do?"
A: "Cognitive-Behavioral."
Q: "Do you approve of the use of medication?
A: "Yes."
IF YOU'RE SEEKING TREATMENT FOR OCD, ASK:
Q: "What kind of treatment techniques do you use?"  
A: "Exposure and Response Prevention"
IF YOU'RE SEEKING TREATMENT FOR COMPULSIVE HAIR PULLING (TRICHOTILLOMANIA), SKIN PICKING OR NAIL BITING...
Q: "Do you treat Body-Focused Repetitive Disorders?"
A: "Yes."
Q: "What kind of treatment techniques do you use?" 
A: "Habit Reversal Training."
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW LONG YOUR THERAPY SHOULD TAKE, ASK:
Q: "How long should it take before I notice some results?"
A:  "Everyone is different, but it usually takes a few weeks or months, or possibly longer."
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE PERSON'S FEE IS, ASK:
Q: "What is your fee?"
A: (This varies a great deal, but you may expect to be charged anywhere from $75 to $125 or more per clinical hour, that is, for a 45-50 minute session.  If the initial evaluation (the first session) takes longer, it will probably cost more.)
